PBS is headed to YouTube TV later this year

The PBS and PBS Kids channels will soon be available for cable cutters who subscribe to YouTube TV. The public broadcaster said on Monday that the seats are secure YouTube TVThe company offers more than 70 live TV channels, on-demand video and a cloud-based DVR for $ 50 a month.
According to a Monday press release, this is the first digital partnership of its kind for PBS. Participating PBS stations will be available for Live broadcast later this year on YouTube TV.
"Our goal is to reach as many Americans as possible with content that educates, inspires, and entertains," said Ira Rubenstein, PBS's chief digital and marketing officer, in the press release. "As a community-based broadcaster, we value YouTube's commitment to local content, and we're delighted that this service gives viewers access to programs produced and distributed by our member broadcasters."
Lori Conkling, Global Director of Partnerships on YouTube, said that audiences everywhere trust PBS and the partnership shows that YouTube TV is dedicated to providing high-quality content to subscribers.
PBS has more than 330 member stations, though it is unclear how many will participate in the partnership with YouTube TV. PBS did not respond immediately to another comment.
